The American Lung Association's Climate and Health Basics course is a free one-hour interactive online learning module designed to help people understand how climate change affects health and actions that can be taken to reduce the risk. This course is ideal for anyone wishing to learn more about the health impacts of climate change, and especially sensitive groups most at risk for health harm including parents of children, adults over the age of 65, individuals with chronic lung or disease such as asthma or COPD, if you are a healthcare professional, and if you work outdoors, are pregnant or live in an area with poor air quality.

This program will teach participants:

  • How climate change increases the risk of air pollution that impacts the lungs
  • Personal actions that reduce and prevent risk
  • How to prioritize climate actions that protect human health

One of the highlights of this learning module is the animation Climate and Your Health that provides an overview of the impact of climate change on lung health.

Climate and Health Basics also includes comprehensive resources, videos and downloads.
